On the South Western slopes of the iconic Paarl Mountain lies the beautiful Landskroon Wine Estate. Five generations of passionate winemakers have contributed to making Landskroon one of Paarl’s leading wine brands. The wealth of winemaking skill passed down through generations of the De Villiers family has shaped Landskroon’s reputation as a trusted brand known for its premium red and white wines, as well as its Blanc de Noir Rosé.
OUR WINEMAKER
Fanie Geyser earned his B.Sc. in Mathematics and Psychology but ultimately pursued Viticulture & Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch and join the world of wine. Many years ago, Fanie’s career took him from Landskroon to the Klein Karoo, where he became a director at Calitzdorp Cellar and later on the winemaker. Life came full circle when he returned to Landskroon exactly 19 years later, taking up the winemaker position.
For three years, Fanie worked under Cellarmaster Paul de Villiers and through close collaboration, he crafts Landskroon’s premium reds and whites, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Paul de Villiers Reserve. Fanie is known for innovation as he explores unconventional blends featuring varietals like Touriga Nacional, Tannat and Shiraz. His tasting-led approach guides each creative experimentation.
