Landskroon’s Paul Hugo White 2015
offers new drinking pleasure with a modern new blend

Landskroon, granted in 1692 is the home of the De Villiers Family.  Situated on the south western slopes of the iconic Paarl Mountain, the estate looks out over towards Cape Town and Table Mountain.

The Estate produces two wines in the Paul Hugo Range, honouring the fathers of the current generation of De Villiers’s, who own and operate Landskroon.

The Paul Hugo White 2015 has undergone a change in the blend and is now made up of 80% Viognier and 20% Chenin Blanc.  Free run juice and gentle pressing juice are allowed to cold settle for 2 days.  Cool and slow fermentation follows.

The wine is a delicate, fresh, crisp, easy drinker.  The Chenin Blanc offers its tropical fruits like guava, and white flowers, while the Viognier offers its heady aromas and flavours of soft dried apricots.

A summery quaffer on its own and a delicious food wine.

The wine has a partner, the Paul Hugo Red 2014, a blend of Cabernet Franc, Shiraz and Merlot currently available.

The Paul Hugo Wines are available nationally in selected Supermarkets, Bottle Stores and Restaurants, or direct online from the Estate.

Landskroon releases a new vintage of its flagship Paul de Villiers Reserve 2014 in the Bordeaux Blend Style

Landskroon, granted in 1692 is the home of the De Villiers Family.  Situated on the south western slopes of the iconic Paarl Mountain, the estate looks out over towards Cape Town and Table Mountain.

The Estate produces five wines in the Paul De Villiers Range, one white and four reds, honouring the Paul de Villiers’s, who have been winemakers at Landskroon for five generations.

The components 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc & 18% Merlot are separately harvested and vinified.  Fermentation takes place in open fermenters with regular punch downs to extract colour, flavour and tannins.  The wines are matured in all new French Barrels for 19 months before being blended and bottled.

The wine is a serious classic.  Made in the Bordeaux blend style, this is a layered, complex and full bodied wine with dark berry and plum fruit flavours supported by fine oak.  The tannins are well integrated and the aftertaste is long and gentle waning.

The Paul de Villiers Reserve Wines are available nationally only in selected Supermarkets, Bottle Stores and Restaurants, or direct online from the Estate.
